Kerala police arrested a small time actress Priyanka for blackmailing Telugu heroine Kalyani (Original name Kaveri). Kalyani who rose to fame with AUNU VALLIDDARU ISTAPADDARU, KABADDI KABADDI and VASANTHAM, hails from Thiruvalla in Kerala. Priyanka made threatening calls to Kalyani and demanded Rs 5 lakhs.

She demanded the money from her for stopping the publishing of a sleazy article about her with evidence in a Malayalam magazine. Then Kalyani's family filed a case against Priyanka at Tiruvalla police station.

When police checked it with the said magazine's editor, they found Priyanka was clean. So Kalyani and her family hatched a plan with the help of police and they promised to pay Priyanka Rs 1 Lakh as advance payment at an Alleppy hotel. Priyanka walked into the trap and was arrested.
