In an attempt to make science more exciting, UTV has tied up with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Vigyan Prasar for a science-based quiz series "Chamatkar" for Doordarshan starting Sep 3. Well-known Marathi actor and TV artist Sachin Khedekar would host the show, to be telecast on Doordarshan 1 (DD1) every Sunday morning.

The show, aimed at introducing science in a fun, non-intimidating way, was unveiled by Ronald D'Mello, COO, UTV, Sachin Khedekar, B.S. Bhatia, director of development and educational communication unit of ISRO and V.B. Kamble, director Vigyan Prasar.

"Through Chamatkar we plan to provide a refresher course on the fundamentals of science all over again through an interesting and exciting format of a quiz show, which will appeal to a larger audience, not like the usual quiz shows that have straight forward questions and answers," said D'Mello.
