It may look like the end of at least one road for 13-year-old Divakar, one of the participants on Zee TV's talent hunt show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs" who was eliminated this week. But the visually impaired Divakar has caught the eyes and ears of fans all over the world. A 46-year-old woman from Singapore named Jessie has offered to donate her eyes to Divakar.
"He's a lovely boy with a lovely voice and he's captured my heart," wrote Jessie feelingly.
"The offer to donate eyes for Divakar isn't an isolated example of how far Divakar has captured people's hearts. We've had offers for his treatment from all over India - many organisations want to fund his and his parents' tour to every possible corner of the country. Divakar is a national champ," Gajendra Singh, producer-director of "Little Champs", told IANS.
Divakar will be seen saying final goodbye to the show in this week's episode. "That's just luck and in no way a reflection on Divakar's talent. In fact, his career has taken off," said Singh. After hearing Divakar sing the theme song from "Black" last week, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali expressed a desire to meet him. "The boy has outstanding talent. He's truly gifted," said Bhansali emotionally.
