Sanchita makes her playback debut
Monday, November 20, 2006

Sanchita The 'Li'l Champ' winner sings for actor-director Rajat Kapoor's film 'Mithya' Sanchita Bhattacharya, this year's 'Li'l Champ' (Zee) winner is already on her way to making her film playback debut. The child prodigy is said to have lent her voice to a sizzling number in actor-director Rajat Kapoor's next film 'Mithya.'

Still wondering why Rajat chose the li'l singer? Rajat offers his reasons, "When the film's producers Planman Motion Pictures suggested that the song could be done by Sanchita, I was excited. When I heard her at the studio, I was convinced that she's the voice we were looking for!"

The music for Mithya has been composed by Sagar Desai, who is a Chicago-based hip and upbeat composer. The song is a dance track which Sagar himself admits is quite difficult to sing! However, he has full confidence in Sanchita's abilities.

He says, "I'm amazed how quickly Sanchita picked up the song. It took us barely 15 minutes to do a scratch, which was as good as the final recording. She sings quite like a seasoned playback singer. In fact, we did make a lot of improvisations based on the expressions that she lent to the song."
