Ace filmmaker Shanker's film with top hero Vikram, ANNIYAN, was launched on Thursday (Mar 04, 2004) at AVM Studios, Chennai. After big flop his BOYS, Shanker has teamed up with Vikram for this mass film. The ceremony was well attended by bigwigs of Tamil and Telugu filmdoms.

Sada has paired up with Vikram for this film. Harris Jayaraj scores the music. The film will continue its regular shooting from March end and will be ready up for release by Jan 2005. It is simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu (APARACHITHUDU in Telugu).

Oscar Ravichandran produces the film in both the languages. It is for the first time that Shanker is not working with A R Rehman. Shanker is reportedly disappointed with Rehman's nature of prolonging the music sessions and has roped in Harris Jayaraj for this project. Already three songs have been composed at Phuket Islands, Thailand, recently.
