Movie Review of JAI

Film: JAI
Cast: Prashanth, Anshu Ambani, Simran
Music: Manisharma
Director: S Narayan
Released on: Jan 15, 2004

Prashanth's home production, JAI, which has been in the production for nearly two years has finally released. But the film has nothing great to offer. It is routine fare from Prasanth. Though it has fresh look, it lacks entertainment value. Prasanth as a macho youngster has done justic to his role.

The movie begins focusing on the rivalry, over property, between two landlords. There is large-scale violence. Following the clichéd pattern, the good and the bad have a tiff. The landlord and the lady are murdered. They are survived by an eight-year-old son. The clash makes the child a rebel.

The child is looked after by one of the assistants away from that place. Fourteen years later, the child grows up to be Jai (Prashanth), who is a college student. He falls in love with a beautiful girl (Anju) who is studying in the same college. After couple of songs and dance, Jai comes to know that ANSHU is the daughter of his father's killer.

The rest of the film is goes on a predictable manner. Prasanth has done neat job as a macho youth, but he needs to look about his weight. Anshu is okay. Debutant director S Narayan has made an appreciable effort.
