Mansoor Ali Khan's wife was arrested

Actor Mansoor Ali Khan's wife was arrested on Wednesday (Sept 03, 2003) in connection with a defamation case filed against her by Sneha Sharma, a woman allegedly raped by Mansoor a few years ago. 

The metropolitan magistrate of the Saidapet city court has issued an arrest warrant against Amidha Banu, second wife of the Mansoor, after she failed to appear before the court. Sneha, who once worked for the actor, had accused Khan of raping her and fathering her child. She also accused Amidha Banu of bringing disrepute to her by describing her in demeaning terms in some interviews given to various newspapers and magazines.

The claim of Sneha Sharma that her child was fathered by Khan was reportedly proved in a DNA test. Khan, who was subsequently found guilty by a lower court of the charge levelled against him by Sneha Sharma, has now filed an appeal against the judgment.

The film titled KANGALAL KAIDHU SEI is being produced by Laxmi Movie Makers, a production house that has produced super hit films.

A young boy Vaeekaran debuts in this film as hero. And Malayalam star Priyamani is making her debut in Tamil films. It is set in Srilanka and part of the film will be shot in Srilanka too. 

IT sleuths raid on Rathnam’s house

IT sleuths have conducted a raid on producer A M Rathnam’s house. Rathnam is a big time producer. There has been lot of hype about his latest production, BOYS, which is reportedly made at the cost of Rs 22 crores. Perhaps this hype might have led to the raids, believe the trade pundits. Income Tax officers raided on his house and office at Chennai. No other details are not known.
