Chitchat with 'actress' Sneha

SnehaSneha is the only actress in Kollywood now who refuses to show cleavage. She is the only heroine who stays away from 'glamour roles'. In this age and time when only heroines who show flesh are getting roles, she's still sticking to the policy of 'no exposing'. Still, she has earned a good position in Kollywood now and has proved herself as an actress of caliber.

Staying away from 'glamour' and yet earning appreciation from the audiences and the filmmakers alike is no easy task. After astounding performance in PARTHIBAN KANAVU, she's now
starring opposite Ajith in JANA and Charan in AUTOGRAPH. She has met the media in Chennai two days back. Excerpts from the chitchat.

Why are so uptight about exposing?
I don't think showing off flesh is necessary to get chances. I am not comfortable playing such roles. Anyhow, my 'homely roles' have been appreciated by all. So, why should I change my stance?

Is glamour not part of acting?
I don't know. I don't have answer for that. I am comfortable wearing in sarees and salwar suits only.

It seems because of your uptight stance, you are not getting many films even after delivering hit like PARTHIBAN KANAVU. What do you say?
No. It is not true that I didn't get much offers after PARTHIBAN KANAVU. Indeed, I was flooded with the offers after that hit film but I declined them, as I don't want to be molded in one particular image. I don't want to be stereotyped. I prefer doing good films than making more number of films.

With young heroines coming everyday, how do you face competition?
I don't believe in competition. I am not in race. I am not competing with anyone nor do I feel threatened by anyone's presence in the industry. Everyone will get films according to their capabilities.

Will you accept 'item songs'?
No. I don't believe in doing just one-song appearances. If I am offered even a 15-minute role with great scope for performance, I will readily accept it but no item songs, please.

There have been rumours about your life.
Yes. As you said they are just rumours. No truth in that. Gossip is part of cinema life. I take it as publicity.

Your dream films?
My dream is to act in Rajinikanth and Kamalhasan's films. It would be great honour to work with these legends.
