10 Questions : Shaam

Despite the popularity, you're not really tasted the big success. Reason?
I don't really know. I work hard for every movie. I am a workaholic. But success is not in our hands. No one knows why a film clicks and some other film bombs. But, I hope my new film, LESA LESA, will set the trend reverse.

What kind of films, do you like to do?
I love acting. I like any film, which has great scope for performance. Personally I love to do roles such as Amir khan's in RANGEELA and Manoj's in SATYA.

Many critics accuse you copy Madhavan's acting style. Your comment?
No. I never copied any one so far. I have my own style of acting. People commented that I resemble Madhavan. Except physical resemblance, there is nothing common between Madhavan and me. I have evolved since my first film, 12B, drastically.

You have been linked with many of your co-stars.
Perhaps I'm lucky that I have so many lovers in the industry (laughs). Anyhow all those rumors are shelved when I am married to someone outside the industry.

What does your wife say when she reads about these rumors in magazines?
She has been my friend. She knows the way our magazines write. She is very understanding and she never complains about rumors as she know me very well that I am ekpatniwala (laughs).

Are you Tamilian?
Yeah. I am basically from Madhurai. But my family was settled in Bangalore. So I was brought up there for 24 years. But I am settled in Chennai now.

Who are your favourite co-stars?
I like all of them but Jyothika and Simran are the best ones I have worked with.

How is it working with Priyadarshan?
I am lucky to work with him. He's such a talented director and is very meticulous. I have learnt lots of things about filmmaking from him. And though Trisha is newcomer, she's been very good and talented. I really enjoyed while working for LESA LESA

Any plans of venturing into Bollywood?
Yeah. I have plans. There are couple of offers but I will disclose them when something happens concrete.

Your currant projects?
LESA LESA will be released on March 28th. I am also doing AVM's ANBE ANBE, which is a comedy film. And there is also a film with my first director Jeeva - PEPSI.
