Director Cheran must be happiest man in Tamil film industry now. His two yearlong gamble has paid him off well - commercially and artistically. His latest film, AUTOGRAPH, which he directed and acted in, has turned out to be a commercially hit.

Equally he has flooded with accolades from the senior directors like Balachander, Bala, and his mentor K S Ravikumar. Balachander showered him with lots of praises. 

"I was really impressed with the climax. Had he married the widow at the end, the film would have been routine film. He showed lot of courage dealing a good film," Balachander reportedly praised him.
