When you talk about the evergreen, ever beautiful and most glamorous lady of Bollywood, one name spurs from top of our mind, yes, it is Rekha. Success to her was not a cakewalk but a hard earned one. She transformed herself from a plump and average to a perfect figured and an excellent acting skilled actress of Bollywood. Even to this day she acts with the young hero's and goes on to prove she is still capable to compete with the other actresses.

Though she is the daughter of the Tamil superstar Gemini Ganeshan and actress Pushpavalli, her acting territory limitation did not stop her in the south Indian film land. She went on to act with all the top actors of bollywood including Jeetender, Amitabh Bachchan to name a few. She grabbed lot of awards like best actress, best Kathak dancer and best supporting actress. She has earned a special place in bollywood and is unrivaled. Be it a role of a court dancer in Umraoo Jaan, a women oriented movie Phool Bane Angaarey or a villainous role in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, she has played the role commendably. Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan became a successful pair on the silver screen together giving lots of hits like Mukaddar Ka Sikandar, MR. Natwarlal, Khoon Paseena and Silsila and also became famous off screen pair. But the relation did not last long.

She made big controversial news for her boldness by acting in the film Kamasutra by Meera Nair. Rekha believes more in the substance of the role than the length of the role. Zubeida is one such film, which proved that though the character she played was not so central had a lot of scope in the role. She is one such personality who has so much of uniqueness in her, be it makeup she wears with such care or the dareness in choosing her roles to make a difference in what she does.
