No man is infallible and even the greatest makes mistakes. Raj Kapoor, famed for his discoveries, that rare combination of beauty and talent slipped up with the rage of the 60s, Sadhana. That she later had the entire industry hanging on to the tendrils of the fringe on her beautiful forehead is another story. Raj Kapoor shattered her morale along with her confidence when he politely but firmly pronounced his verdict " tell her she is no heroine material".

S. Mukherjee (Filmalaya) thought otherwise and Sadhana with LOVE IN SIMLA became the newest star in the filmi galaxy. With MERE MEHBOOB she became the darling of the masses. But neither did she forgive nor forget Raj Kapoor's indictment.

 The two of them were paired together in DULHA DULHAN, years later. Unfortunately it was the director who got the worst end of the deal. For neither of his stars ever showed up together for the shoot. He had no choice but to shoot separately with the pair and link the shots on the editing table. A total lack of involvement, co-operation and professionalism on the part of both the stars, predictably resulted in an insipid, incoherent product that was destined to crash at the turnstiles. Raj and Sadhana never worked together again much to their mutual and everybody else's relief
