Jiddu Krishnamurthy and filmstars
by Sushama
Late I.S.Johar was known for his barbed and whacky sense of humor and this M.A.[Lit]'s ability to play with words was simply unmatchable. He had once described the three phases in man's life as: Tri weekly, Try weekly and Try weakly! When J. Krishnamurhy the rich and famous guru of rich and famous had descended upon Mumbai, then Bombay, way back in Jan 1978. Over to the irrepressible Indra Sen Johar:
"Krishnamurthy jetted in from Switzerland and sat Lotus-like under a shamiana in the tree festooned grounds of the J.J.School of Arts. He talked of insecurity and how to get rid of it, he talked of fear and how to overcome it, he talked of desire and how to love without it. His audiences, the seekers of truth displayed vivid colours including saffron and blue denims too. Zeenat Aman in her denim jeans and loose top was wide-eyed with school-girl like attention. Her arch-rival Parveen Babi sat with a shawl wrapped around, thanks, rather no thanks to the attack of flu. So were there Goldie [Vijay] Anand, Kabir and Protima Bedi, Mahesh Bhatt, Vinod Khanna etc. Let me tell you none of them found answers to their problems. But then did they really want any answers in the first place? Personally, I think they were all there for an effect!" Other tales
