Director Kanmani who won praises for his debut film Naa Oopiri is directing a film with Sumanth and Charmi in the lead roles. The film is produced by Katragadda Lokesh and C V Srikanth. The producers announced the title to the media today (August 23, 2006). "We have decided to put Chinnodu as the title," producer Lokesh informed the media.

Hero characterization is different: Kanmani
Speaking on the occasion director Kanmani revealed the basic plot of the film. "Sumanth plays complete different role in the film. The birth of this character and the way the character behaves is completely abnormal. He behaves like a normal person but he does extraordinary things. He has no cunningness and pre-planned movements. The film is primarily based on this character," he said.

Complete mass entertainer: Sumanth
Hero Sumanth said, "after the successful Godavari, I am again doing a commercial mass film with this. Unlike my other films, it has got more drama. You can say my character has shades of that I played in Satyam and Gowri. The reason why we have chosen the title, Chinnodu, is we don't want to give false promises. My character name in the film is Chinna. But others call him as Chinnodu. We are not showing any cinematic dramatization towards my character."

"I have liked the beginning and ending of the film very much. When Kanmani narrated the story, I was in tears. Yet, the film has something there for everyone. Romance, action, drama, entertainment - everything is packaged into the film very well.

Coming from a family that owns a production house, I must say Chinnodu is one of the best film as per production planning is concerned. Producer Katragadda Lokesh and his production team know perfect planning. Though we didn't use much sets in the film except one at Kachiguda Railway station, the outdoor shooting was managed amazingly," Sumanth praised. He also praised Ramana Gogula's music.

Good chemistry with Sumanth: Charmi
Charmi said she hopes that her winning combination with Sumanth works again. "I had great on screen chemistry with him in Gowri. And I felt the same chemistry here too.
