A tribute to Malayalam cinema and literature

Recently Malayalam Manorama the leading newspaper of Kerala organized a program to commemorate their second anniversary. They brought the much acclaimed Malayala Sadya and Kathayattam together.

Famous singers K S Chitra and Madhu Balakrishnan sang old film songs. Most of the VIP's in the Malayalam arena were present on the occasion. There was a presentation of the landmarks of Malayalam literature using a blend of cinema and theatre. This was enacted by renowned actor and superstar Mohanlal for the cause of Malayalam in brief.

Mohanlal who is celebrating his 25 years of acting this year performed some exquisite roles performed by ten stars of yester years. Mohanlal was at his best, and the effect was extraordinary when he acted. T K Rajeev Kumar directed the show. Mohanlal played out the screening of clippings from movie adaptations of the novels. Also screened were shots of places that figures in the novels or associated with the novelists such as Mayyazhi, Thazrak, Mukkam, Basheers home in Beypore and Central jail at Thiruvananthapuram.
