Anil Babu's Kalabham's shooting is nearing completion. This film stars Navya Nair and Bala in the lead. Others in cast include Manikuttan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Thilakan, Gayathri, Bhavani Mohan, Baburaj, and Kalpana.

Arjun (Bala) plays the role of a music lover. His love for music gets him to Sivarama Bhagavathar's house. He learns music from Bhagavathar. Sivakami (Navya) is Bhagavathar's daughter. She likes to listen to Bala's voice. Slowly she falls in love with him.

Bhagavathar also works as temple priest. He is assisted by Parthasarthy, who likes Sivamani. Sivakami confesses her love to Arjun. When Bhagavathar comes to know of this, he is shattered.

Kalabham's shooting is progressing at a rapid speed in Thenkasi. The main location is a Brahmin street (agraharam) in Sundarapandyapuram. Dr N R Harikumar under the banner of Ananthika Pictures produces the film. S Rameshan and Vayalar Sharatchandra Varma have penned the lyrics for which music has been scored by late Ravindran.
