Music: MM Kareem

Pooja Bhatt knows the art of fetching the media and the audience's attention towards her movies. The blockbuster
Jism got huge popularity amongst the cinegoers, film circles and the critics alike. And even the averager
Paap too won its place in the main headlines. Her current offering,
Rog has been in focus from the outset as well. Although the movie has been on the tongues due to the bombastic sex beauty of Illene Hamman (the South African super model), nevertheless its subject and music took the driving seats also.
Pooja Bhatt's production,
Rog has Himanshu Brambhbhatt on director's chair whereas the cast revolves around Irfan Khan (the renowned TV actor turned film star), Suhel Seth, Manish Makhija, Himanshu Malik and Illene Hamman. Illene makes her Bollywood debut with this flick.
Uday Singh Rathod (Irfan Khan) is a police officer who is specialist in solving crime cases. Maya (Illene Hamman) - a renowned model, is murdered in her house. Uday and his assistant Munna (Munish Makhija) fasten their belts to solve this case. Uday decides to stay at Maya's residence to solve this complicated case and finds her letters and personal diary there, which help him find some clues. He then puts the finger of suspicion on three people who surrounded her in her life. They are:
Harsh Vardhan (Suhel Seth) who is a journalist and also happens to be the mentor of Maya.
Ali (Himanshu Malik) who loved Maya a lot and was going to marry her but just before her death, Maya came to know his philandering attitude.
Shamolie (Shamolie Varma) is Maya's aunt and shares bed with Ali.
Now the suspense elements take place making the viewer solve this difficult riddle "who is the killer amongst the three?" During the investigation, it is revealed that the girl who had been killed in Maya's bed was not Maya. Instead she was some other girl whom Ali was making love with. Again the story drags the viewer's attention to more suspense-mystery letting them think over who is the actual murderer? In the process, Uday falls in love with Maya.
As it is the tradition in Bollywood presently to have cops' movies laced with the full packages of action,
Rog eliminates this fashion to the fullest since there is hardly any action in the reels. The film scores high on the elements of thrill and sex, which are in abundance for the entertainment of cinegoers. At places, the pace of the movie gets slow but the suspense sequences have the viewers on the edge of their seats. The narrative keeps the moviegoers' interest alive also.
Director Himanshu Brambhbhatt handles some sequences with utter aplomb but overall his job does not raise any spirits. The cinematography is eye pleasing and that's the thing, which sends the chill in body. MM Kareem hits hard on music. "Khubssorat Hai Woh Itna" and "Maine Dil Se Kaha" are the picks of the lot.

Amongst the performers, Irfan Khan runs like clockwork. The brilliant actor acts through his eyes. His acting reminds of the days of the past when his TV serial titled "Sparsh" was running on Sony Entertainment channel and he played the character of a close friend of the leading protagonist. Whatever he spoke in that serial was laced with philosophy! Illene Hamman makes a worthwhile debut. She looks extremely gorgeous and stunning. Although she presents the skin-show in plenty (and that's what made the news across the country) but luckily it does not look vulgar on her. Himanshu Malik is okay with his performance. Munish Makhija and Suhel Seth both attract with their parts. Shamolie Varma is average. The rest of the cast is adequate.
On the whole,
Rog will certainly bag the audience in handsome number due to the vivid fact of Illene's beauty and the exposure of her curvaceous body parts. But the viewers will also find suspense elements together with sex masala in this show.
