Jaanwar A mixed breed, this film revolves around a criminal and his attempts to lead a normal life. Haven't we heard that before? When underworld don Sultan (Shakti Kapoor) finds a hungry kid in Rajasthan, he offers him shelter and guns. Is it the Don's job to feed hungry kids in Rajasthan? Okay, so the boy grows up and is... imaginatively the hero of the film, Akshay Kumar. And he happily commits crimes while this inspector (Ashish Vidhyarthi) is gunning for him and vows not to take promotion till he captures the hungry kid-turned-criminal. Poor chap, he doesn't get promoted all his life! What next?

Entrez a dancer girl Karisma, who lives in a basti and bathes in a pond where she finds Akshay one fine day, wounded by a bullet. And they fall in love!

He promises to marry her the next day at the same old Shivji ke Mandir, but doesn't turn up. Actually, Akshay is busy bumping into a kid (whose genes belong to Shilpa Shetty and Mohnish Behl) and thanks to the kid, he is a changed man. And more thanks to the kid, he also ends up with a misunderstood Karisma.

Eight years pass in eight seconds and now, our smart Alec has turned into Babu Lohar. Suddenly the Don wakes up and realizes he needs Badshah. Badshah is no longer bad. Well that's the conflict.

Akshay Kumar is earnest and has given the character his best. Karisma is wasted. Shilpa Shetty tries hard.
