A trigger-happy don, his 'ever ready to oblige' side-kick, a college love affair, mindless killings, senseless songs, gross aesthetics, etc, etc, and more unmentionable etc... all khapaoed in the name of a film...Baaghi. The story or should we say, the attempt at one is conspicuous only by its absence.
Vikram (Aditya Panscholi, trying to appear cool and suave and failing miserably) is a much wanted gangster (though his business interests are never revealed) controlling the crime in the entire city (saara shahar, as it is referred to). Raja (Sanjay Dutt), who carefully reminds you "No one cares for anyone"...everytime, is his man Friday, ready to aim and shoot at the drop of a hat. (Vikram's hat, as it happens to be in every case.) Enter Surya, a kid, who saves Raja's life and 'becomes his life' (literal translation). Surya is the son of Professor Pandey (Shivaji Satam is the only credible character in the entire zoo). Paranoid that Surya will be spoiled by Raja, Professor Pandey tries in vain to keep Raja away from Surya.
Surya (Inder Kumar) grows up and falls in love with Kiran (Tina Senn), who is (as expected) Vikram's younger sister. Vikram is dead (well, ultimately he is) against the marriage as he has other plans. Vikram asks Raja to get Surya out of Kiran's life (translation, again). Surya's sachcha love reminds Raja of his love for Rani. Enter Manisha Koirala. She cooks an omlette, gets him employed with Vikram, dances (that is her profession), fights with her drunkard father and shoots herself when Vikram's boss Manmohan (Gulshan Grover) tries to buy her from her father. Exit Manisha Koirala. Raja decides to unite the two lovebirds... just to prove that in this world where no one cares, he does. The final showdown takes place as Surya and Kiran get married and Vikram and Raja kill each other.
Sanjay Dutt yet again, tries to portray the good soul forced to take up crime, rather unconvincingly. Only Master Rohan's acting is worth mention. The performance by Shivaji Satam too is commendable. Hush!!! That is it... Baaghi for you. Stay away from it if you don't want to get up halfway through in rebellion against trash being served as movies in Bollywood.
