He dreams of serving his country. Uday's (Vivek Oberoi) life centers on becoming an honest police officer. With fierce determination and drive he surges forward to fulfill his dream. But as always he has to confront a number of obstacles before reaching his goal. And one such obstacle is Shankar (Atul Kulkarni).
The entire story centers round how Uday overcomes all the hurdles and fulfils his dream of being an honest police office.
DUM is a remake of Tamil hit DHILL. The movie bears a lot of resemblance to Cineyug´s own Sunny Deol starrer "ARJUN" and has some shades of Nana Patekar starrer "YESHWANT". Some scenes are right out of E Niwas's "SHOOL."
DUM has a very good first half, but a dragging second half. The film has its ups and downs.
First lets list the ups. E Niwas has once again proved that he is a good director. The picturisation of the action scenes are excellent. Choreography and cinematography are good. The title song 'Jeena' is very well picturised.
Now coming to the downs. The script is hackneyed. Screenplay lacks effort and clearly indicates that it is a
mixture from other films. The song 'Babuji' was totally unnecessary. Vulgarism has reached its zenith with this song.
Musically the film is okay. Performance wise the film goes to Vivek Oberoi and Atul Kulkarni. Diya Mirza has nothing much to do. Sushanth's role begins well, but again he is wasted. Same happens to Mukesh Rishi's role. Rest lend adequate support.
Overall the movie does not have much DUM. But if you love Vivek Oberoi then you can watch the film. If not the movie, this guy does have DUM
