Still from Dil Maange More Anant Mahadevan was the same guy who made the 'super flop' Dil Vil Pyar Vyar in his debut venture. His second film Dil Maange More got a lot of publicity in the form of media coverage and promotion. However, has the film been able to deliver what it promised - A wholesome entertainer? Read on and decide for yourself...

For young Nikhil (Shahid Kapoor), everything begins and ends at Samarpur. Life for him revolves around his school that he had inherited, football, the game he loved, and his beloved Neha (Soha Ali Khan). Neha, being very ambitious takes off to Mumbai city to pursue her dream of becoming an airhostess. The love-struck Nikhil follows her to the city. But life has something else in store for him.

Here he meets Sara (Tulip Joshi), his colleague at his workplace. Sara is a fun loving perky babe and Nikhil easily falls in love with her. But then there is also Shagun (Ayesha Takia) who resides next door. Though she can be irritating at times, Nikhil's heart 'maange more' and he gets attracted to this adorable girl. Meanwhile, Neha decides to return to Nikhil to win her lost love. Confusion strikes when all three girlfriends want him. What will Nikhil do? Will he choose Neha, Sara or Shagun? What follows is a series of funny episodes that is hilarious to the core.

Though the film does not boast of a great storyline, Anant sure manages to grasp your attention with his precise comedy timing and intelligent narrative. Though the first half is engaging and fun filled, the second half becomes very predictable and one tends to lose interest.

As for Shahid, he is definitely a star to watch out! He is terrific in comic scenes. His expressions are most interesting to watch combined with extraordinarily fluent dance movements. However, one thing that he needs to be careful of is not to imitate Shahrukh Khan. In fact, he doesn't have to!

Out of the three girls, it is Ayesha who walks with the cake. Not only does she have a meatier role, she was also able to cast an impression. The much talked about debutant Soha is just about average. In fact, there were certain scenes in which she looked absolutely blank. Though she has a striking resemblance to her mother Sharmila Tagore, the girl has a long way to go before she is put in the league of 'good actresses'. Tulip again fails to create any impact. She is just about 'ok'.

Apart from these main characters, there is the music-shop owner A.R. Rahman (Gulshan Grover) who is also a likeable creation. Then there is Zarina Wahab playing the Gujarati mother of Ayesha who brings in an amount of freshness to the stagnating concept of one guy romancing three girls.

The songs 'Gustakh Dil' and 'Aisa Deewana' are hummable stuff. However, the remaining tracks are not impressive enough.

Shahid back with another flop?
Though the film cannot be categorised in the league of films like Hulchul and Munnabhai MBBS, it might do well among teenagers and kids.
