Mere Jeevan Saathi

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

Starring: Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor, Amisha Patel
Music: Nadeem Shravan
Director: Suneel Darshan

Still from Mere Jeevan SaathiLove...Passion...Obsession. Years back this was a successful formula, but of late we have seen too many movies with the same plot. Last one which was a success was Aitraaz. But Mere Jeevan Saathi, though on the same lines does not impress. Akshay Kumar, Amisha Patel and Karisma, interesting star cast but...

Let's get down to the story line. An aspiring popstar Vicky and a college sweetheart Anjali who is with him through thick and thin. Another angle to this story is Natasha who secretly loves him. His success is not his alone. Natasha has secretly helped Vicky in his success, from penning his first hit song to making him a singing sensation. She does all this for his love, and he is in love with Anjali. What now? Natasha turns ferocious. She tries all tricks that we have seen before to throw Anjali out of his life.

Still from Mere Jeevan SaathiSuneel Darshan has given us good films, but this one fails miserably due to bad scripting. The film is about a pop-singer, but the music is pathetic. Nadeem Shravan have scored the music, but the tunes fail to impress.

Performance wise, Akshay is okay. He has done this role before. At times we feel that he is the only saving grace in this film. Karisma, has returned after a short break. She is obsessive alright, but how we wish she was more villainy. Remember Priyanka Chopra in Aitraaz, the lady sizzled. Amisha as usual is sweet. Rest give good support. Overall the film fails to impress.
