In Bollywood's fraternity, Soldiers have been the prime focus in films. A number of movies have been made on the lives of soldiers, using them as the central characters. Axiomatic to say, the filmmakers' efforts are appreciable and honest.
Director Mani Shankar is back once again with his latest upcoming venture, TANGO CHARLIE. His last science fiction thriller, RUDRAKSH, despite being laced with exceptional special effects, brilliantly executed fight sequences, masterly done cinematography and well-knitted storyline, could not register much impact at the box office. Mani Shankar is still determined to make films, he believes in. And that is his specialty. TANGO CHARLIE features Mani's unique tradition of showcasing special effects in plenty.
Produced by Nitin Manmohan, the film's basic concept lies in discovery. Mani Shankar brings again the hot actors of RUDRAKSH, Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty in this newest enterprise, TANGO CHARLIE.
The sequences unzip showing the Indian Air Force helicopter pilots, squadron leader Vikram (Sanjay Dutt) and
lieutenant Shezad Khan (Suniel Shetty). Together they both make a discovery sitting in absolute wilderness. And this discovery then leads them to an utter change in the course of their lives. They spot a number of dead bodies strewn all around and also see a hand reaching out to them for help. Due to the bad weather, the HQ commands a "NO-GO" signal but they do not care and rescue the strange life. During the process they find a diary that unfolds many discoveries in the form of Sepoy Tarun Chauhan (Bobby Deol). This diary also displays some truths of Tarun ranging from the good moments to the bad ones, from his love Lachchi (Tanisha), his battles, his fears, his journey of life, the loss of innocence and the influence of his mentor, Havaldar Mohammed Ali (Ajay Devgan), who actually shaped Tarun's personality.
TANGO CHARLIE captures the lives of brave fighters who are always all set to sacrifice them for the sake of their country. The movie has music by Anu Malik and the lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
The film will soon hit the theaters across the country and abroad.
