Being laced with many flops as a producer in recent past, Boney Kapoor returns with his latest offering, Bewafaa starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Sushmita Sen and Anil Kapoor in the lead. The film revolves around the human's changing morals and values in a modern ongoing world.
The reels open with Anjali (Kareena Kapoor) who is the younger daughter of her parents (Kabir Bedi and Nafisa Ali) settled in Montreal, Canada. She has an elder sister, Aarti (Sushmita Sen) whom she shares her secrets with. Anjali loves a budding musician, Raja (Akshay Kumar). She tells this reality to Aarti who gives assurance to the lovers that she will convince her parents for their marriage. But unfortunately for the two, the destiny has something else in store. Aarti passes away while giving birth to her twin babies. Getting caught in the circumstances around, Anjali has to marry her brother-in-law, Aditya Sahai (Anil Kapoor). An older and mature Aditya takes Anjali to New Delhi where they both are settled. Being a business tycoon, Aditya has no time for Anjali and his two sweet daughters. Anjali nevertheless fulfills her duties as a true wife but is not able to bridge the gap between herself and her hubby.
The story takes a new turn when Raja walks back in Anjali's life. He is now a famous fusion singer. Now Anjali swings in two men - one is her husband and the other is her ex-lover. By the time, Aditya knows the reality, Anjali has committed to an extra-marital affair with Raja. What will happen with the three is a riddle, which would be revealed to the audience upon the release of the movie.
The supporting cast consists of Manoj Bajpai and Shamita Shetty. Priyanka Chopra gives her special appearance also in the flick. Renowned musicians' duo, Nadeem-Shravan has scored the tunes, which hold appeal to the ears.
The film is scheduled to release in the month of January 2005.
