Mukta Searchlight Films gives chance to new filmmakers to make movies under their banner. Days back, Subash Ghai's 'Shaadi Se Pehle' hit the screens, now the showman is geared up once again to endow the audience with another biggie '36 China Town' - the flick has been in news since the day it announced.

The reasons are crystal clear because the real life lovers Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor have been roped in to enact the lead roles and of course Subhash Ghai's favorite Akshaye Khanna also acts in this film. Another catchy element of the film is the debut of the dashing model Upen Patel. Ishaa Koppikar and Payal Rohatgi, Paresh Rawal and Johny Lever also join the voyage. The men in white, the masters of thrillers Abbas-Mustan take the director's chair. So this big star cast certainly raises the interest level of the audience to see the product.

Sonia is a rich and stunningly gorgeous woman. She is the owner of one of the biggest casinos in Bangkok. This entertainment joint is called 36 China Town. The lass is considered to be the guru in the business. Due to that, she is admired as well as hated by the people around her. Sonia has all, one desires in life - from luxury, comfort, respect and love. But when her young son suddenly goes missing, she is distressed and life changes altogether.

Raj (Shahid Kapoor) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor) are the two strangers who have come to the city to get a good fortune and make a living there. Initially they fight each other but later they fall in love. They find the missing child and decide to split the reward. They reach at Sonia's palace late at night and find her dead. In fear, they run from the place but unfortunately they leave their suitcase and the footprints behind.

Karan (Akshaye Khanna) is a detective. It is said if a crime is committed in the China Town, the guilty cannot escape from him. He has two principles for his profession. One - never look at a suspect as guilty till proven, and the other is - do not leave any suspect uninvestigated. There are Natwar (Paresh Rawal) and Gracy (Payal Rohatgi) - a couple living in the same town and they run a big hotel there. Natwar is a compulsive gambler and always loses. Gracy, his wife, always looks at him with contempt and disregard. Although she dominates her husband but is unable to change his habits.

Due to his gambling habit and her contempt for it, both of them become prime suspects for the murder at 36 China Town. Another couple is also on the scene - KK and Ruby (Johny Lever and Tanaaz Lal). They are there to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. KK has a hidden agenda to become rich, so he hides this and lies to his better half. Because of their lies they both become suspects for the murder at 36 China Town. A rich Casanova of China Town, Upen Patel also becomes the suspect of the murder. He believes if a gorgeous girl says yes to you, don't leave her at any cost. But if she says no then don't touch her. Since there are too many suspects, Karan soon realizes this seemingly simple case is actually a very complicated one. And he knows all are lying including Raj and Priya. Unfold the mystery upon the release of this enterprise of showman and Abbas-Mustan. Today's hot singer-musician Himesh Reshammiya scores the music for the film and album is getting popular with the listeners. The movie will soon hit the theaters all over very soon.
