Still from RainThe subjects of disabilities have been handled in Bollywood topography for numerous times till date but the ones touched the hearts and souls are yesteryear's emotional-tragic classic Door Gagan Ki Chaoon Mein (produced-directed-composed & lyrics written by the late versatile, genius legend of Hindi cinema late Kishore Kumar, who also had acted in as the leading protagonist and sung for the film. This was a man of multi-talents rather a super human being in actual life) and the recently manufactured sensitive emotional tale of Sanjay Leela Bansali Black (starring the talented Rani Mukherjee and the living legend Amitabh Bachchan in the lead). The similarity in both of these movies is that the leading characters of the flicks are deaf and blind.

V R Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.'s Rain also pulls the socks up to tread with this continuation of the subject of disabilities since it deals with the girl who is born blind. Vinod Bachchan under his banner Soundrya Productions produces this outing whereas Amol Shetge pens the script and directs this venture. Rain features famous model turned actor Himanshu Malik (who is still trying hard to make his standing in Bollywood) and vocalist turned actress the sex bombshell Meghna Naidu (this dusky-sultry lass, who is so liberal in exposing her body, is struggling a lot to make her mark amongst the leading ladies of the Hindi cinema) in the pivotal roles. The central role in Rain would provide her a chance to showcase her dexterity as an actor.

The film talks about Sandhya Bhatnagar (Meghna Naidu), a born blind, who is brave with sheer grit and determination. She has fought against all odds in life and become a celebrated writer. She lives alone in a bungalow that stands alone amidst the wilderness of a hill station. Always love to be isolated, she consumes most of her time on her Braille typewriter typing stories based on the tough realities of life.

Still from RainOne day, a journalist Prakash (Himanshu Malik) calls her as he wants her interview. She asks him to come over for the interview. Before he arrives at her bungalow, she does strange things as she starts picking up knives and hiding them in different places in her abode. This generates doubts as to what is the purpose behind the hiding of knives. This also puts the question in mind as to what will happen to Prakash when he steps in her home? Fortunately nothing unpleasant crops up upon his arrival. The interview goes on smoothly till the topic of rain takes place during talks. Prakash comes to know that Sandhya has a strange fear - the fear of Rain. She gets nervous and tensed while hearing the word Rain. She also becomes frantic and goes utterly insane when the rain actually starts showering. Prakash now moors to know the fact behind her suffering from this phobia of rain. During his finding, he loses his heart to this gorgeous-sexy writer. After the abundant twists and turns, he succeeds in uncovering the truth.

What is the fact, he has discovered? Is it called her horrifying past connected to rain or there is something else that scares and disturbs her from the rain? Will her lover be able to help her overcome this fear of rain? To unleash the answers, wait for the outcome to appear on the silver canvas. This suspense-filled fiesta is perhaps the first Hindi film that focuses on the subject of phobia in such a depth.

Parveen Bhardawaj scribbles down the lyrics and Satish-Ajay stockpile the tunes. Rekha Chinni Prakash choreographs the dances. Ishwar Bidri is the cinematographer of this movie that is scheduled to ignite the screens on 30th September all over.
