Madhu Sapre, Milind charged
Friday, October 29, 2004
A lower court on Oct 28, 2004 framed charges against models Madhu Sapre and Milind Soman in a case dating back to 1996 in which the duo had been charged with obscenity for appearing "nude" in an advertisement.
The court charged the models along with six other accused under section 292 of the IPC and kept the matter for November 30 when the trial is expected to begin.
On October 6, the court had cancelled the warrant that had been issued against Sapre for failing to appear before it.
A case for obscenity has been registered against Sapre for appearing nude in an advertisement campaign along with model Milind Soman.
The duo was shown nude with a python wrapped around them.
The matter had been listed for hearing on July 5 last and was later adjourned to August 4. Neither Sapre or her lawyer appeared before the court, following which the court issued a non-bailable warrant against her.
