The Bollywood movies are going to get special spotlight at the London Film Festival this year. The festival that begins on the 7th of August is organized by the British Film Institute. At Cannes this year, a group of Indian filmmakers met up with the London Film Festival organizers and discussed the on the possibility of getting more focus for Indian films at the fest. This seems to have won Indian movies a special slot at the fest.
Some Indian producers feel that these days the festivals mainly go for big banner films which reduces room for smaller films. However, some filmmakers say that the fests have their own parameters to select a film which is unaffected by the marketing strategies. Some of the Indian films to be screened at the London Film Festival this year include Rang De Basanti, Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, Fanaa and Omkara.
