Rang De BasantiRang De Basanti can safely be stated as a "contemporary classic", as the producer Ronnie Screwala calls it. Though it's been quite a while that the film has released, the film continues to have its after effects not just in India but across the borders as well.

In Pakistan, a reputed newspaper called 'Jung' is planning to launch a news channel called 'Aag' which is inspired by Rang De Basanti. The channel plans to focus on public related issues and create mass awakening. The owners of 'Jung' therefore wish to have the presence of the cast and crew of RDB in Lahore for the launch of the channel.

The director of Rang De Basanti, Rakeysh Mehra, is currently making arrangements to make sure that the cast is present in Pakistan for the channel's launch in mid-October. The owners of the channel are so impressed by the film that they are also making efforts to release Rang De Basanti in Pakistan.
