His father was an accomplished director, who delivered a string of hits in the 1970s and 1980s. So when Narinder Bedi's son Manik Bedi turned actor and then producer with Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav, the question uppermost on everyone's lips was, how come Manik isn't directing the film?

However, if the grapevine is to be trusted, Manik is all set to direct a multi-starrer and has already finalized the script for his directorial debut. "It's true that I a planning a multi-starrer, but what's untrue is that I am in the director's seat. The film will be produced by me, but directed by a very big name," he tells me.

Reportedly, Manik is contemplating signing three topnotch actors for the film in question, but he's tightlipped about it. "I wouldn't like to divulge the names till the official formalities are completed. But, yes, something big is definitely brewing," he smiles.
