Shiney AhujaShiney Ahuja is the flavor of the season. After winning tremendous acclaim for his performances in Gangster and Woh Lamhe…, Shiney is being considered for the best of projects these days. In fact, if there's one newcomer who's carved a niche in a relatively short span, it's Shiney.

But success comes with its share of controversies. And the rumor doing the rounds of the industry is that Shiney is charging an exorbitant fee [Rs. 1 crore] per film. "Is that what people are saying?" Shiney asks, when I confront him with the rumor, "I really don't want to discuss my remuneration in public, but if I am being offered an 'x' amount by producers, who am I to complain?"

Please elaborate. "Post-Gangster, offers have been pouring in every day. Obviously, you can't do all the films offered to you. Sometimes, you refuse a film by quoting a ridiculous price, but if the producer is ready to pay that amount, is it right to blame the actor for it? And why should I refuse money? Won't it be foolish on my part if I did so?" Shiney states.

Shiney recounts the days when he had no work on hand. "It was tough. Extremely frustrating. But things changed after Gangster. Believe me, I haven't hiked my price at all. I am quoting what I deserve. And if the producers are cool with it, why this hullabaloo? After all, no one does charity here." Point noted!
