 She says that she is no longer bothered about image, her priorities in life have changed. Kareena Kapoor wants to be part of a good film and a good script, with a pivotal role. In Omkara (an adaptation of Othello) she plays the role of a girl from Meerut who is literate and yet who is so hopelessly in love with Ajay Devgan, that she does whatever Ajay says. She is completely devoted to him. She leaves her family and quits college, all for the love of this don.
Kareena says that signing Omkara will be an important step in her career. She says that this film will take her to a totally different level. Like Saif she did not have any problems speaking the western UP dialect. She says her character was that of a literate person. So has Bebo read Othello ? Yeah she says, "I studied Othello in school. But I feel Vishal's version is better than the original. Honestly, the expectations from the film is scaring me. Everyone is talking about wanting to see Othello. Believe me I never thought that the film will grab so much attention. One thing is sure though. It is a heart-wrenching film and will make people cry."
