A month long festival organized on the completion of 25 years in Malayalam cinema came to an end on Sunday (September 14, 2003). The show, which was organized under the direction of director Priyadarshan, was attended, by many known politicians and film stars from Bollywood, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu industry.

The celebration, which went on for a month, consisted of screening of films at the Tagore theatre, a photo exhibition and several seminars. The final round of the celebration happened on the grounds of his alma mater, the Mahatma Gandhi College in Tiruvananthapuram, on September 14 evening.

The show which was called THIRANOTTAM was witnessed by more that 25, 000 audiences. The crowd witnessed Mohanlal's first shot 25 years ago. He appeared in a lungi and shirt. The scene was one where Mohanlal fall from the bicycle. Mohanlal described this fall as his first step towards victory, which he attained with the help of his friends.

The producer of MANJIL VIRINJA POOKAL, Navodaya Appachen placed crown on Mohanlal's head. Siddique and Bhagyalakshmi compered the program. The function was graced by eminent personalities like Chief Minister A. K. Antony, Union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and O. Rajagopal, Tamil actor Vijaykanth, Hindi director Ramgopal Varma, Mammootty and actor Suniel Shetty. Mohanlal's parents and wife Suchitra were also present on the occasion.
