Recently Priyadarshan completed 25 years in Malayalam cinema. He is a director with a difference. Sometime back KFC has banned Priyadarshan. Of course the loser here was Malayalam film industry. Today if we were to list all hit films in Malayalam, majority of the films would be of Priyadarshan.

When the ban was imposed on Priyadarshan two of his films suffered. One was VETTAM, which starred Dileep and the other was WANTED by Murali Nagavalli. Priyadarshan had also written the screenplay for this film.

Asianet celebrated Priyadarshan 25 years in Malayalam cinema by honoring him. Priyadarshan gave the proceeds from the ceremony to a charity trust in Thiruvananthapuram.
