Nandanam wins critics award


Still from NANDANAM Nandanam, directed by Ranjit, has bagged the best film and best director awards of Kerala Film Critics Association (KFCA) for 2002, while Dileep for his role of a physically deformed youth in KUNHIKOONAN cornered the best actor award.

Navya Nair adjudged the best actress for NANDANAM. KFCA general secretary Mannarakkayam Baby and its president Theikkinkad Joseph announced the coveted awards at a press meet.

"MEESA MADHAVAN", the blockbuster featuring Dileep and directed by Lal Jose, was adjudged the most popular movie of the year. Veteran actor Gopi was chosen for " Chalachitra Ratnam" honour in view of his outstanding contribution to Malayalam film.

M G Sreekumar won the best male singer and Radhika Tilak female singer awards. KFCA members made the selections. Five senior artistes of yesteryears had been honoured as "Chalachitra Prathibha" for their lasting contribution to Malayalam movie. They are: John Sankaramangalam (direction), Bharnikkavu Sivakumar (lyrics), Vilasini (acting), and actor-singer Pappukutty Bahagavathar.
