The film has had a bad opening. Even die hard Mohanlal fans are staying away from this film. There are no cine goers in places like Trivandrum and Ernakulam for this film. Some have even started questioning if this film marks the end of Mohanlal's career.

What is that, which has caused such reaction from the audiences? In VAMANAPURAM BUS ROUTE Mohanlal plays the role of a conductor Lever Jhonny, who is a ardent MGR fan. Apart from dressing like MGR, this actor hums MGR's tunes.

This role is similar to those roles that he played in HARIHARAN PILLAI HAPPY AANU and BALETA. The actor who emotes well has selected films where there are hardly any emotions at display. Mohanlal has now pinned hopes on a Fazil film which will be released during Vishu festival.
