It is a pity that the film like
Thandavam though had the initial pull, the movie actor Mohanlal and the director Shaji Kailash had to come forward and appeal to the viewers about their movie.
It was only Mohanlal fans and a chunk of action movie lovers who were attracted to the movie. Women viewers kept away from the movie and men just didn't care to know about the movie.
Infact the the movie
Meesa Madhavan, starred by Dileep and Kavya Madhavan, pulled the family audience. Even the people from other states for who came to celebrate 'Onam' also preffered to see
Meesa Madhavan.
Scenario being this, first Shaji Kailash made his appearance in an ad informing general public that there seems to be false propaganda against his film. He claimed that the film was basically made for the family audience, film that he could watch along with his family, like any other prior films like
Aaram Thamburan and
Narasimhan.
"Whatever be the rumours, I assure you that there will be not even a single scene in the film as described by the rumours from today onwards," he said in his last sentence of the affidavit that appeared. But why that bit of admittance, One wonders?
There was more to this drama. Four days later the actor Mohanlal himself appeared in yet another ad claiming that
Thandavam was one of his best movies and people would miss one of his best movies if they didn't watch it.
In his appeal he said "every one knows that women and children are my biggest audience and they will miss one of my most successful and finest entertainment movie if they listen to the people who spoke ill of my film, who haven't even watched
Thandavam."
Unfortunately even after these appeals,
Meesa Madhavan seem to be doing well and people are flocking the theatres where ever the film is being reeled .A rare honour for the director of the film Lal Jose indeed.
