Jayaraj was bold when he did experiments and brought out DESAADANAM, KARUNAM and SANTHAM. He announced then that he will make a series on NAVARASA, a brilliant idea; any serious director would cherish to fulfill. But even the world famous directors are not that ambitious for this medium is such that one cannot predict what will happen to the films in the box office.

That's why a few masters stopped at trilogies. And see what happened to Jayaraj. He had conveniently forgotten those projects. He could not even start the film on Kalidasa. On the contrary what Jayaraj badly wanted was a commercial success, which he promptly embarked on. He thought of a project with Dileep in the lead. He brought in a new scriptwriter. And a comparatively new music director Kaithapram Viswanathan.

Now the latest story. He has changed the scriptwriter. Dileep is riding the waves of commercial success now. Will he take a chance now? Can he take the risk on a script that is written by a novice? No impossible. So successful writers were brought in. What can Jayaraj say? This is not an international audience we have here. They are mere common people spent money from their pockets to see the film. In international festivals it is delegates. They can freely talk about the film and walk out.
So? So Dileep is right. Let us work out a good script in the commercial set up. OK. And the music? Yes we will have some fast dance number. That is also okay with Viswanathan though he has not tried anything like that before.
