Narasimham, a Shaji Kailas film, was declared as the Best Film in the first Online Movie Poll conducted by malayalam.indiainfo.com. Jayaraj whose Karunam got the Swarna Mayur in the last IFFI won the Best Director for his film Karunam and Shantham. Padmasree Mammootty got the Best Actor award for his outstanding performances in Arayannangalude Veedu, Vallyettan and Dada Saheb.

Samyukta Varma adjudged as the Best Actress for her performances in Mazha and Madhuranombarakkattu.The Online poll was conducted in 10 different categories viz. Film, Director, Actor, Actress, Comic Actor, Script Writer, Music Director, Male Singer, Female Singer and Lyricist.

The Best Film was selected by a rating system in which the users are requested to rate 10 nominations from one to ten. A total of 5231 votes polled for this category. Narasimham became the first Best film by acquiring 1705 votes followed by Arayannangalude Veedu and Joker, both are directed by renowned scriptwriter-director Lohitadas.

A total of 4556 votes polled for all other categories in which Mammootty got 1548 votes to claim the Best Actor award. He is followed by Biju Menon and Mohanlal. Samyukta Varma bagged the Best Actress award by claiming 2586 votes out of 4556.
