It's been a slow journey towards superstar position, yet he reached it. Right now Dileep is in the peak of his career. Now he is working with ace director Priyadarshan. Dileep holds Priyadarshan in high regards. It was this director who propelled Dileep towards acting. In the mid nineties when Dileep was doing mimicry shows Priyadarhsna asked him to concentrate on acting. Priyan as he is called by Dileep also gave him a chance in the film MEGHAM.

Dileep says that Priyan casting him in the film VETTAM has been the most wonderful thing that ever happened to him. He has high hopes on this film and is very excited about this project. Dileep believes that it is he scriptwriter and the directors who are responsible in making a film successful. He asserts the fact that each star has his own capability. No audience will accept a star if he does a role beyond his age. Very humbly he points out that if he were to do roles which he did a few years ago, he would be rejected outright by the audience.

Dileep agrees that most of his films are comedy. It's not intentional. The aim here is to provide maximum entertainment to the audience. Few years from now Dileep still hopes to be in the industry and make his fans laugh. Right now he is working on Priyadarshan's film. After which he will complete director Joshi's film and the move on to a Lal Jose's film.
