First day, on the second week of January. Everybody in the unit was waiting for Mammootty. It was the unit of 'CHRONIC BACHELOR'. The last ten days passed with shooting of scenes that did not require Mammootty. He was waiting for the heroine to arrive. Selection of the heroine was delayed. Director Siddique finished the shooting of child hood days of the central characters. He finished some major scenes of Mukesh and Lau Alex. Later the name of the heroine was announced and it was Laila from Tamil. She had earlier acted in 'ORU SNEHA GATHA' directed by actor captain Raju. Vinayan also cast her in his 'WAR AND LOVE'. But the project is almost abandoned. It had Dileep and Prabhu in the lead.

Anyhow, Laila became a top heroine in Tamil. Siddique considered her and finalized.

Fans of both Mammootty and Mohanlal are joyous, for the super stars have returned to acting sooner than they thought. Mohanlal was already in one film. After finishing the Thulasi Das project 'MR BRAHMACHARI' he came straight to Priyadarsan film 'ORU KILICHUNDAN MAMPAZHAM'.

'CHRONIC BACHELOR' was a topic of discussion among the cinema lovers and people in the industry for the last one year. It was announced long back and was about to start some ten months back but it was delayed. Siddique and Lal who used to bring out humorous films at regular intervals could not even launch this film. Siddique and Lal are considered as successful directors who made all their films super hits. Lal turned to acting. Siddique had to go alone. This also caused the delay in the projects.

Mammooty had signed this film at the time rejecting all other offers. Still it took much time to launch. Mammootty has a unique role in this film called SATYAPARATAPAN. He is a businessman. The shooting was scheduled at a posh house near the Navodaya studio in Kakkanadu in Cochin.

The first scene after the arrival of Mammootty required Innocent, Mukesh, and Harisree Asokan. Innocent as Kuruvila is the most trusted man of Satyapratapan. He is in charge of all affairs in the house. But Satyapratapan had to look after Kuruvila often. Mukesh and Harisree Asokan plays two characters Sreekumar and Ugran respectively. Sreekumar is dear to Satyaparatapan for he is the son of his father's dearest friend. He is abroad for a long time. Ugran is a friend of Sreekumar.

The first scene with all these actors was shot quickly. Kuruvila, Sreekumar and Ugran together created some problem and Satyaptratapan fiercely reacting to it. As a collective group of comedians one can think of the hilarious chaos they might have created.

The intervals between the shots became more hilarious. The senior actors called each other by the names of the newly entered actors like Prithviraj, Indrajith, Jayasoorya, Sidharthan, and Saji Soman. They were obviously pointing to the displacement of leading artists. Mammoottty seemed enjoying the dialogues. Director Fazil who came to grace the occasion also enjoyed the remarks of Innocent who started the jokes.

Satyapratapan is a lonely person. He is cheated all along. But comes out unhurt. He is rich with no friends. He never trusts others unlike his earlier days. But he is now forced to change his attitude. It is the story of Satyapratapan that is detailed in this film. Janardana, Aishwarya, Nitya das, K P A C Lalitha, Idavela Babu, Mohan Ayiroor are the other important actors in this film.

Siddique has written the script. Kaithapram has written the songs. Deepak Dev has scored the music. Yesudas, Jayachandran, Chitra, Ganga, Renuka, are the singers. Anadakkuttan has handled the camera. Ammu International is producing the film, which will be released by April.
