It is cinema. Anything can happen, including ousting out of an important actor. That's what happened to Babu Antony. Babu is presently in U.S. comfortably engaged in his own outfit. He had decided to do away with films. If he had retracted from his decision, it is because of Mohanlal's heavy compulsion. It was reported in film publications earlier that Babu Antony was specially invited by Mohanlal to play a key role in Thandavam. He was assured the role was an important one, that of a Sufi. With much reluctance Babu Antony came down to India and co operated with the project. Look what happened! It was a repetition of Stalin Sivadas case. The entire footage of Babu Antony's character was edited out. Director T S Suresh Babu edited the portion of Babu Antony from Stalin Sivadas a Mammootty film.

A classic case of editing actors from film is that of Ramya Krishnan from Mahatma. Hers was the main role in that film. It is a story of a daring woman journalist. According to the script Ramya was all in all in Mahatma. In the original story she gets killed and Suresh Gopi comes to investigate the case. Ramya was highly paid those days. She was brought from Hindi film sets. Suresh Gopi was just beginning to get action roles at that time. Anyhow he was far below Ramya Krishnan remuneration wise. As the shooting progressed Ramya Krishnan's role became insignificant. After a dance sequence her character suddenly disappeared and the story continued with other actors. The money paid to the actress thus became a waste. Ramya Krishnan it seems never came back to Malayalam. Not that she is hurt or wounded. She is in a far better position in Tamil and Telugu where she gets paid her worth.

But the producer never dared return to film industry with another project!
