It's news and it's a good idea. Ranjith brings 12 veteran actresses in one picture. They are Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Sukumari, KPAC Lalitha, Philomina, Vijayakumari (mother of actor Mukesh), Santhadevi, Santhakumari, Valsala Menon, Khadeeja, Nilmbur Ayisha, Meena Ganesh, and Kozhikode Sarada.

If there is anybody original in Malayalam film field it is Ranjith, says critics. (And What about Sreenivasan? No way! He is exhausted, say the same critics. They point out how carelessly his 'YAATRAKKARUDE SRADHAKKU' was written and the spark of his intellect was missing.)

About Ranjith, it is pointed out that he is changing the scenario of film writing in Malayalam. No body is experimenting with themes now a days. When Ranjith failed to get Mohanlal for his announced project, he decided to go wild in conceiving and executing new themes in a low budget. It paid him good dividends in 'NANDANAM'. NANDANAM is still running in theaters and has made good reviews.

Ranjith has to finish a song sequence for his under production 'MIZHI RANDILUM'. Meanwhile, he is writing the script for 'AMMAKKILIKKOODU'. This new project is his home production for Ranjith's brother Raghupathi who is producing the movie. Padmakumar, his junior is directing the film.

The songs are being written by Vayalar Sarthchandra Varma and Ravindran scores the music for the film.
