Satyan Anthikkad who has a special inclination towards stories in village background has for a change chosen a city theme for his new film. The dexterous actor scriptwriter director Sreenivasan writes this. Together they have brought a number of films, which became hits and was artistically appreciated highly.

Satyan Anthikad has started shooting of his new film in Coimbatore. He had to postpone the earlier announced film with Jayaram in the lead and start his present project.

Milan Jaleel produces this film in which Soundarya from Tamil appears for the first time in Malayalam. A new actor is selected to play the male lead role. Milan Jaleel is currently producing Kunhikkooonan with Dileep in the lead.

The Satyan - Jayaram project didn't take off for some technical reasons. Milan Jaleel was busy with scheduling Kunhikkooonan directed by Sasisankar. The script is ready and there was no difficulty in going along. The shooting is almost complete and in the mean time Sreenivasan-Satyan team have given a final touch to their script. Milan Jaleel is ready with the fund.

Satyan is introducing Soundarya the number one girl in South India into Malayalam in this film. She is a successful actress in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu languages. Her Kannada film Dweepa by Gireesh Kasaravally gained popularity in film festival circuits and last week it fetched the National award for the best picture of the year. She has acted in Padayappa and Arunachalam with Rajnikanth.

This the right time for Soundarya to come to Malayalam. She was considered for several Malayalam films earlier but none of the projects took off.

Satyan who usually tells stories of ordinary village people has chosen the affluent class this time. He compares the difference between the city and village life as well in this film.

The story takes place in Chennai Metropolis. Ramanujam better known as Ramu comes to Chennai to work in Construction Company as an engineer. Shortly a friend joins his life. A female friend Jyothi. She is a software engineer. They decide to stay together in the same flat Ramanujam lives.

The relationship was one of utmost friendship and they respect each other. This is a rare kind of theme, which hitherto not handled by Malayalam cinema. Sreenivasan has given a natural treatment to the theme, which would be welcomed by the audience.

Innocent, Sreenivasan, Oduvil, Nedumudi Venu, T P Madhavan, Mamukkoya, Beena are the main actors in this film.

The film has six songs written by Kaithapram and music scored by Johnson. Jayachandran, M G Sreekumar, Chitra are the playback singers. Vipin Mohan would handle the camera.

The location will change later to another town and some interior parts of Kerala after the first schedule in Coimbatore.
