Jayaram will be starring in a forthcoming film titled PAURAN. The shooting is going on at a brisk pace in and around Kottayam. The film, produced by Dolphin creations will be directed by Sundar Das. Jayaram, who plays the role of Divakaran, an MLA is a simpleton and works for the people. He is the son of an old communist leader named Kunhikannan, who was killed by the power hungry communists. Divakaran's mother, who is an ordinary labourer, manages to become an MLA. The protagonist in the film is loved and respected by everyone. However, in the process, he also has to face some powerful enemies inside his party, which is increased with his mother's position.

Geetu Mohandas is the heroine and the cast also includes Kalabhavan Mani, Jishnu, Sukumari, KPAC Lalitha, Riyas Khan and Babu Nambudari among others. The film, written by Sajeevan has songs by Gireesh Puthenchery and music by Raghu Kumar. Shanki Mahendran, son of noted cameraman Balu Mahendra is the cinematographer.
