In the recently held election for the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists superstar Mohanlal was elected as the general secretary. Senior star and comedian Innocent was re-elected as the president.

One of the panel's was led by Innocent and the other by K B Ganesh Kumar. From the latter's panel only two candidates were elected to the posts.

This is for the first time that elections were conducted for the posts. The other office bearers include Jagadheesh who holds the post of the treasurer. K B Ganesh and Nedumudi Venu were elected as the vice-president.

Kalabhavan Mani, Maniyanpillai Raju, Mamukkoya, Mukesh, Sukumari, Baiju, and Biju Menon elected as the committee members.
