It is a long time since we saw Sreenivasan in an inspiring light role that takes us to the mixed world of fun and serious thinking. He brings out the various shades in human behavior through his characters. He as a cinema writer has produced innumerable of them. The meticulously written ones is reserved for himself. Especially when he is writing for Satyan Anthikad. Here he comes in such a special role in 'YATRAKKARUDE SRADDHAKKU' directed by Satyan.

Sreenivasan plays the role of a kleptomaniac named Gopi in this film. Though belongs to a respectable family he, in his approaching middle age, has cultivated the habit of lifting in to an art. He travels to far away places where his relatives are working. He pays regular visits to them with the punctuality of a migratory bird. As usual he visits his cousin brother Ramanujam an engineer in a construction company in Madras. But Gopi was not allowed to stay in the flat. Ramanujam had his own reasons to that. He is living with a friend, a young lady, Jyothika who is a soft ware engineer. He does not want Gopi to meet her or even know it.

Ramanujam takes him to a lodge. Gopi beats up some room boy in the lodge and was thrown out. Gopi returns to the flat. In the night Gopi confronts a shadow of a lady and faints. The drama continues. When Sreenivasan handles exaggerated situations it becomes light humor.

Director Satyan and Sreenivasan are creating a different time and place in this film where the rural atmosphere in Satyan films is displaced by city life. The human relations take up a new form in 'YATRAKKARUDE SRADDHAKKU'. Satyan examines the veracity of the claim that the contemporary society has become modern. Jayaram and Soundarya with Sreenivasan, Oduvil unnikrishnan, Innocent, play the important roles in YATRAKKARUDE SRADDHAKKU. This film is getting ready for release in December first week.
