Has anybody heard this?

Even before the original is released a film is being remade in Tamil!
Not only in Tamil, in Telugu also. The rights for Telugu version have been sold.

It is Nandanam directed by Ranjith, which got this unique and rare acceptance.

Preview of Nandanam has fetched high opinion recently. But the other side of the story is that the distributor despite its low production cost delays release of Nandanam in Malayalam for want of funds.
Ranjith will be directing the Tamil version of Nandanam.
Ranjith presently on an American tour will begin his first Tamil directorial venture on his return.

Name of the Tamil version is Nandanam. He prefers new artists as hero and heroine. It is decided that son of a celebrated actor would become the hero. Heroine would be Navya Nair who had appeared in Malayala. A R Rahman would score the music for Swamy.

Ranjith has another assignment coming his way. He will direct the next film produced jointly by P V Gangadharan of Grihalakshmi films and Suku Nair of Triveni films. There is every chance of this film being shot in U S locations. Or the story would be that of NRI set up.


Nandini heroine to Mohanlal


Nandini who did a heroine's role opposite Mohanlal in Ayaal Kadhayezhutukayaanu by Kamal once again signed opposite him. K Madhu directs this film.

Choonda: Prithviraj and Gheethu Mohandas signed

Prithviraj and Geethu Mohandas are cast in Choonda a film directed by Venugopan and produced by P S Rajesh of Sundaram creations. The other actors are Nedumudi Venu, Sindhu Menon, and Bindu Panikkar. The story is by Kalavoor Ravikumar.

Mohanlal, Mammootty, Kalabhavan Mani, Dileep, Meera Jasmine and director Shaji Kailas are all in Tamil at present. Mammootty is shooting for Puratchi Talaivan, after completing his Karmegham. Mohanlal is acting in Pop Corn with leading lady Simran. The shooting is in Hyderabad. Dileep is acting in his second Tamil film. Meera Jasmine is presently doing a Tamil film with another three in the queue. Kalabhavan Mani became a hit actor in Tamil after his villain role in Gemini became a wave in Tamilnadu. He has signed more than half a dozen Tamil films.
