Shreya Reddy, popular 'Southern Spice' music channel VJ will star in the upcoming Malayalam movie BLACK opposite well-known Malayalam actor Mammootty. The film written and directed by Ranjith is a story about a girl from Chennai who runs away to Kochi. Shreya dons a fiery feminist in the film. Language will not be a barrier as the character speaks mostly in English, Tamil and in broken Malayalam.

Shreya has also made a foray into the Telugu film industry, but without much success. However, she is already a reputed star in Kerala. In a poll conducted recently among students in Kochi, Shreya was chosen as the most popular VJ. That is one of the reasons why Ranjith has decided to bank on her fame. The film also has Rahman and camera by Amal. Alex Paul composes the songs for this film.
