Padmapriya, an aspiring model from Hyderabad makes her debut as a mother of a six-year-old girl in KAZHCHA and is paired opposite Mammootty in the film. KAZHCHA sets in a village backdrop, the shooting for which has already begun at Kuttanad in Alappuzha District. Director Blessy has high hopes on this project. This is a very daring decision for Padmapriya as the role is not a glamorous one at all. She has been model for celebrated brands like Fair and Lovely, Surf Excel. Though she does not know Malayalam, she thinks she can cross the barrier by writing dialogues in English and rehearsing it. Padmapriya does not regret her decision and is of the opinion that she would get good roles only in Malayalam films.

Padmapriya made her debut as an actress in a Telugu movie, which was a remake of Malayalam flick "VASANTHIYUM LAXMIYUM PINNE NJAANUM". She had been Miss Andhra Pradesh 2001. Earlier she had got an offer from Bollywood to act opposite Amitabh Bacchan. Unfortunately this Rajkumar Santhoshi project did not take off.

Padmapriya, who is an MBA (Finance), now works with GE Capital, Bangalore as Financial Analyst. She gives preference to her job while at the same time managing modelling, ramping and acting.
